The add-on allows automation of recurring tasks in Jira, assigning them and managing teamwork. But what if you need to run the issue with a checklist immediately and then follow the schedule? Use the Run now feature for such a case.
For example, you`ve scheduled a task with a checklist creation at 9 a.m. every Monday. But now it`s a Wednesday and you need to create the task and save the initial scheduling. If so, follow the next steps
Create a checklist and choose the project to place the task with a checklist. Also set an assignee in this step. Choose the project to place the task with a checklist, select the assignee and set up recurring. Set a schedule to get the same start day and time for this issue with a checklist.
The feature is out of reach in 2 cases (The run now button is disabled):
no project selected in recurring settings
In case when the owner of the checklist selected a private project for that you didn’t have access. So you couldn’t Run now issues with a checklist in such projects.
2. Use Run now feature to create tasks immediately but save the recurrence.
3. To manage important task creation, in case of vacation or absence of any users from your team, you can stop recurrence automatically and then resume it. To achieve this, on the main grid, click on Enable button and choose an appropriate variant of pause:
Enable recurring after several day(s)/week(s)/month(s)Use this setting to resume recurring again after a few day(s)/week(s)/month(s)
Enable recurring after several occurrence(s)Choose this setting to resume recurring after a few occurrence(s)
Enable recurring on a specific date Use this setting to resume recurring on a specific date
Not set - the recurring settings will be disabled until you turn it on
Also at any time you can turn off any of the rules above and activate the recurring process by clicking on the button
The feature Enable is available only for checklists with recurring.
