The Status Count report shows how many times an issue has been in each status.

The calculation of the report on the Grid occurs according to the selected period. The Status Count report calculates how much time an issue has moved to each workflow status

during the particular period.
For example, the task was in the To-Do status (1 time), then moved to the In Progress status, and after some time, the task returned to the To-Do status(+1 time). So, the status count for this task is 2 in the To-Do status

In the Status Count report, below the column titles, the number of issues in each column, the total sum of the number of times a task was in a certain status, and the average value are calculated. The Total column performs the same calculations but is consolidated - based on all the data in the grid. This feature is available when you select the Table view of reports.
It is also worth noting that if you select more than 2,500 tasks, this calculation will not be displayed.

Note. The average value is calculated based on issues with a time value greater than 0.
The calculation of the report on the Chart view occurs according to the selected period. Status count calculates how many times the tasks from the sample of tasks have been in each status.
For example - on Monday, 4 tasks out of 6 were in To-Do status 2, 3, 4, and 4 times. So the Status count of To-Do status on Monday is 2 + 3 + 4 + 4 = 13
