📝 Context: A team manager needs to monitor the total time spent on each Jira issue and its subtasks to ensure deadlines are met and work is completed efficiently.

🤔 User Problem: As a team manager, you must ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and meet deadlines. However, with so many subordinates and a high volume of work, keeping track of everything takes time and effort. Each Jira issue is crucial and should not be missed, so it's necessary to monitor how long it takes to solve each issue. You need a way to get a report showing the sum of status durations of an issue and its subtasks to ensure that I have control over all tasks and working processes.

💡 Solution

Issue Age data of Time in Status app with the Total option can be used for this purpose.

You just need to:

  1. Open the Time in Status reporting page.

  2. Filter issue list by the filter you need.

  3. Choose date ranges (start and end dates).

  4. Select your business calendar if you have created any new ones.

5. That’s all!
Now in the Total column, you can monitor the total time the chosen issue has been staying in each status.

📈 Outcomes: With the Time in Status app, you can monitor the total time spent on each Jira issue and its subtasks to ensure deadlines are met and work is completed efficiently. This way, you can take control of all tasks, working processes, and deadlines and ensure that each Jira issue is completed on time. You can also extract reports for further analysis or sharing with stakeholders.
