How to restrict permissions for deleted issues? | Data Center

Case:

Your team is working with the Issue History plugin, but you want to make deleted issues option forbidden for specific users. Is it possible to restrict who can flip the “Keep deleted issues” switch ON and OFF? Can all admins do this or only certain user groups?

The following groups have full control over all options and can grant/restrict any accesses:

  • administrators

  • jira-administrators

  • site-admins

  • system-administrators

But you can restrict the use of the “Keep deleted issues” toggle from other user groups you have in Jira.

  1. Select "Permissions" in the configuration menu (If you have administrator access) to manage the accesses.

2. Uncheck the user groups for which you want to restrict deleted issues option in the “Deleted issues section”.

Now, users from the group you unchecked don’t have the access to use the Deleted Issues option, they can not activate the toggle and view deleted tasks on the main page.
