App pricing

The license tier (app pricing) matches the number of users licensed for the host product.

The app will only function if its license matches or exceeds the tier of the host product - even if only some licensed users need to use it.

Determining the License Tier for Jira Apps

For Jira, the app license tier will match the highest Jira app tier. For example, if have a 500-User Jira Software license, and a 20-Agent Jira Service Management license, apps must be at the 500-User level.

For more details, please visit the Marketplace App Licensing page from Atlassian.

How to calculate pricing

Do you have any issues calculating the price for your add-on? If so, we’ve prepared a short use case explaining how to do that.

Here’s a picture that displays how to calculate the accurate price for a particular number of users.

Here’s a picture that displays how to calculate the accurate price for a particular number of users.

Each tier (<10, <100u, etc) has its price.

When you calculate a price for a particular number of users, you need to divide this number so that each part of it is regarded as an exact tier. To calculate the price for your users (if there are more than 100), you need to calculate each tier separately and sum them to get the final price. Look at the precise example in the picture above on how to get the necessary data.

For a quick verification of your calculations, you can use the Atlassian calculator available on the price page for any app.

Simply enter the number of users you're calculating for in the designated field, as shown in the image below.
