Form editing restrictions
Form editing restriction allows you to limit access to form content and settings editing, as well as viewing and downloading responses (in the issue where the form was added, in the new issue that the form created, and of course in the add-on Response tab), for users other than the Jira admin. However, those restricted users can still add a form to an issue and fill it out. If a user lacks access to the form, it appears disabled for them, but they can still see its name.
Restrictions are limitations applied to forms to govern their usage, editing, and viewing. There are two options for restrictions:
Open access: Anyone can view and edit.
Restricted access: Only specific individuals can view and edit. When this restriction option is configured, the user that set restrictions, the creator, and the Jira admins group become the owners of the form, and you can grant permissions to other users and Jira groups.
By default, anyone can edit and view all forms.
Users with no access to the form can’t:
Edit, set up, copy, or delete form
View and download form responses of other users and his own
Share form URL from an issue (if this setting is checked in restriction access)
Users with no access to the form can add a form to an issue and fill it out. Also if the form contains Automatic Form Addition to a Jira issue setup and the user creates that type of issue then the form will be added.
Please exercise caution, as those granted permissions can edit forms, manage users, and add or remove others.
Instruction on how to set form editing restrictions
Open the add-on and go to the Forms list, hover over the needed form, and click on the Lock icon.
By default, anyone can edit and view all forms. To set up a restriction on the form select the option Only specific people can view and edit and choose from the list of individual users or groups who will see and edit the form. Once the limited restriction is selected - other people can’t open to view or edit the form, they only see that the form exists and its owner in the hint. When you add restrictions to the form, a Lock icon will be shown on the form line in the list.
Once the form has received a restriction, it will be available for editing only to those who have access.
