Forms Settings
Settings Tab serves as a centralized hub for managing the behavior of your forms. Within this tab, you can effortlessly configure various parameters to tailor the form's functionality to your specific needs. This includes options such as:
Populate options from the issue field. This setting streamlines form element configuration by automatically filling dropdowns, checkboxes, multi-choice, or radio buttons with predefined values from a Jira issue field. For example, a dropdown menu in a task creation form can be populated with labels from a specific Jira field, ensuring accurate and consistent data input, and can upgrade the abilities of the Destination Field and Create new Jira issue settings. Destination Field for form in issue. This setting automates the update of issue field values with data submitted through a form in issue. This means that when someone submits a form in issue, the responses can seamlessly transfer to pre-defined Jira issue fields. For example, after a teammate submits the form, the details automatically update the designated Jira issue's Label field or other, enhancing data synchronization, reducing manual errors, and seamlessly integrating into the project management system. Create a new Jira issue based on the submitted form. This setting initiates the creation of a Jira issue in a chosen project, automatically populating Jira issue fields with form responses. For example, a form submission can automatically create new Jira issues for requests, ideas, and bugs, ensuring all issue details are filled in. This seamless process enhances team workflow and management efficiency. Read more.
Automatic Form Addition to a Jira issue. This setting instantly attaches specific forms to designated issue types in selected projects. For instance, a bug report form can be automatically added to all new Jira issues of type Bug, guiding users to provide specific and relevant details consistently. Read more.
Share a form with external users. This setting enables individuals outside of Jira to fill out a form, facilitating collaboration with external stakeholders, customers, and other users. For example, a form for gathering customer feedback can be shared with customers via a link, allowing them to provide input without needing direct access to Jira. This external collaboration is particularly useful in scenarios such as candidate information collection during the hiring process or collaboration with partners from other companies. Moreover, this functionality can be improved by combining it with the Create a new Jira issue setting to ensure that each response becomes a separate issue assigned to the designated person within a specified project, thereby optimizing issue management. Issue status after form submission. This setting automatically updates the issue status upon the assignee's submission of the form. As a result, you can seamlessly progress your issues through the board workflow once the form is completed. Read more.
When you duplicate a form you can choose to duplicate form settings or the form without it.
