Auto-attach form to issues

Auto-attach form to issues is employed when it is necessary to instantly attach specific forms to designated Jira issue types during their creation. This functionality enhances the efficiency and accuracy of issue management by providing a standardized and consistent format for capturing relevant details. Predefine added forms guide users to provide specific and relevant details, ensuring the completeness and consistency of the information captured. In addition to allowing the user to fill out a form in a Jira issue, it can be shared with external users from the issue.

Characteristics

  • Automatically add one or multiple forms to specific issue types in Jira and to the desired issue types and request types in Jira Service Management.

    • The form can automatically be added to a new issue created after form submission. Therefore, if the issue type selected in the "Create a new Jira issue" setting is the same as the one chosen for "Automatic Form Addition," any issue created after form submission will include the form that was set with Automatic Form Addition.

  • Save form as Draft in its current state to return and complete it later. Read more.

    • Revise draft changes of form or restore specific versions.

Abilities of form that was added to Jira issue automatically

  • Share form from an issue with non-Jira users. So, their responses will be saved in the existing issue. Read more.

  • Change values of Jira issue fields to forms elements responses after forms submission. Read more.

  • Create a new Jira issue with values of Jira issue fields based on form element responses after form submission. Read more.

  • Download all form responses or only responses from one form instance. Read more.

Instruction on how to add a form to a Jira issue automatically

  1. Open the add-on and create a new form or use an existing one.

  2. Go to the Setting Tab, click the Add to issues automatically button, and select the desired projects and issue types from the dropdown list in the modal window.

  3. Once the selected issue type is created in the necessary project, the form will be added automatically.

  4. Download all form responses or only responses from one form instance. Analyze and work with data from the survey in your own way. Read more.
